BIO:
Carrie Johnson was born in Kansas City, Missouri, and grew up in the Chicago suburbs. She received a B.A. in Fine Arts from Indiana University in 1979 and went on to Yale University for an MFA graduated in 1982. The same year she received a Ford Foundation Grant and moved to New York City. 
Joh­­­nson has shown at many New York art galleries over the years including, The Drawing Center in New York, A.I.R. Gallery, Anita Rogers Gallery, and most currently Museum Editions M+E Gallery. Her work is in numerous private collections, and she is currently based in Lincroft, New Jersey.
