Helen Frankenthaler (1928-2011), whose career spanned six decades, has long been recognized as one of the great American artists of the twentieth century. She was eminent among the second generation of postwar American abstract painters and is widely credited for playing a pivotal role in the transition from Abstract Expressionism to Color Field painting. This poster was a part of those produced in partnership with Lincoln Center & Vera List Art Project. Lincoln Center Editions is a component of the Vera List Art Project, which was launched at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in 1962 by philanthropist and art collector, Vera List. In particular, her vision and commitment helped to develop Lincoln Center into a true intersection of the arts, both visual and performance.
