MARGARET NEILL is a Brooklyn-based artist who works with painting and drawing. Her Energetic and contemplative abstract works are intuitive, process oriented and carry references to language, music, mathematics, and everyday experience. The work poses a method of mapping physical and emotional space. By paying attention to our environmental landscape which is always in flux, the artwork embodies a vibrational resonance of experience. These multilayered artworks are created in a variety of media using drawing as its foundation.
Neill earned an MFA at Brooklyn College and has exhibited work in a variety of settings including the Cleveland Center for Contemporary Art, O KHarris, the Colby College Museum of Art, and the Czech Republic. She has had one person shows at Kenise Barnes Fine Art, Metaphor Contemporary Art, Cheryl Pelavin Fine Art, The Brooklyn Public Library, The Kentler International Drawing Center, Kent State
University among others. Neill’s work is in public and private collections including Colby College Museum of Art, The New York Public Library, the Museum of Modern Art Library, Pfizer, Inc., Hiram College, The US State Dept., NYU Langone Health Center, 100 Barclay St, Brigham and Women’s Mass General Health Care Center, New School University, Ernst and Young, Wellington Management, Zimmerli Art Museum, Rutgers University, among others.
Her work has been reviewed in Art in America, Dateline Brooklyn, Artnet, The Brooklyn Rail, The New York Times, The NY Sun and featured, InStyle Magazine, New American Paintings, The Harvard Business Review, Better Homes and Gardens and Domino.
